- 3 smoked hamhocks
- 1 onion (quartered)
- 2 medium carrots (chopped)
- 1 stalk of celery (chopped)
- 1 tsp black pepper (couldn’t find whole)
- 3 small bay leaves (dry)
- 3 quarts of water
Bring to a boil and then simmer for 2 hours. Strain and store for Hoppin’ John on New Years.
